An alternative to Airtight is FIG: Flash Image Gallery.

FIG includes a somewhat robust administration panel and does not require any particular server-side language. You simply add photos and albums to your catalog through FIG’s easy to use admin back-end.

From FIG.com:

The FIG is a gallery application that can be used by anyone to display multiple galleries of photos, artwork, or other pictures with descriptions. It requires no server-side language and will run on any web host. It is idealy suited for artists with online galleries, but can be used by anyone.

* Simple, intuitive interface and design.
* Works on any webhost without the need of a server-side language such as PHP, ASP, or Coldfusion.
* No need to know Flash. Don’t let the name fool you. Flash is not needed. It was only used to provide the interface.
* Supports multiple galleries and simple image descriptions.
* The color styles of the gallery can be changed to match your existing site. The borders, background, and navigation colors can all be changed.
* Supports up to 224 images in each gallery.
* When there is only one gallery, the interface changes. The gallery name is displayed at the top, the home button is removed, and the thumbnails load immediately.
* It’s FREE.

    I’m using it at my of my site. But the biggest drawback as the name implied is – that it so simple. Still looking for much better gallery scripts. Give me head up if you found one!
